Chablis is the most northern of the vineyards located in the north of Burgundy, 150km south of Paris, a neighbour to Champagne and the Côte d’Or.
The vines from the Domaine Laroche are spread out across all the denominations of the Chablisian vineyards and benefit from the Kimmeridgian soil to produce fine, mineral, precise, refreshing and elegant wines.
GRANDS CRUS :
There are 100 hectares consisting of 7 ‘terroirs’ on different ‘Climats’ dedicated to the Grand Crus( one of the biggest selling wines of the world). The denominations are; Les Blanchots, LesBouguerots, Les Valmur, Les Vaudésirs, Les Preuses et Les Grenouilles. Each of these wines can be kept for 20 years or more.
PETIT CHABLIS :
The Petit Chablis is harvested on the plateau and is a very
good wine to be consumed between 6 months and 3 years.
PREMIERS CRUS :
Dedicated to the premier crus are 750 hectares with 40 different terrains, the most famous being Les Fourchaumes , Les Vaillons,
Mont de Mileu and Les Vaucoupins. All can mature up to 10
years or more.
CHABLIS :
Harvested on 3000 hectares, Chablis represents two thirds of the
total production. In most cases Chablis is planted on slopes
exposed to the sun. To be consumed within 5 years after of its production.
